  •  What connection do you see in the setting (“A country road. A tree.Evening.”) of the play and these paintings?

This Two paintings has very much similarities. This two paintings  by Caspar David Fredrich (September 5, 1774 - May 7, 1840). Beckett  was inspired by this painting. The one painting was of 'Longing'. This painting was the inspiration behind of the 'setting' of 'Waiting for Godot'. In the painting of 'Longing' there were one couple who longing for somethings. Waiting can be read sometimes as longing. In the painting of 'Waiting for Godot' there were two men who was waiting. The words 'longing' and 'waiting' also suggest similar meanings. Waiting is the meaning of longing something, longing for Godot, longing connected with salvation or meaninglessness.

  • The tree is the only important ‘thing’ in the setting. What is the importance of tree in both acts? Why does Beckett grow a few leaves in Act II on the barren tree -The tree has four or five leaves - ?

Leaves on Tree - Waiting for Godot

The tree is a very important symbol in the setting of the play. In first Act there no any leaf on the tree. But in 2nd Act there were four of five leafs. It symbolize the hope. That there were one type of big change will come in their situations, because of Godot. So, leafs also symbolizes hope and tree also symbolizes Universe and Human indifferent bush and shrew also religious symbolism.

  •    In both Acts, evening falls into night and moon rises. How would you like to interpret this ‘coming of night and moon’ when actually they are waiting for Godot?

In both acts, evening falls in to night and moon rise. In first act we know that Vladimir many time said that when night comes? The night and moon symbolize the hope of something of change. But we know that nature can not wait for anything, its running on its own way. But in the life of human being, there is only wait, no tomorrow will come, and its being human's daily routine.

  •    T  The director feels the setting with some debris. Can you read any meaning in the contours of debris in the setting of the play.                                     Image result for image of series on the setting of waiting for godot                                                                                         The presence of debris on the setting of the play, it suggest the world War 2. The theme of the play is nothingness and meaninglessness. And also shows the destruction after the world War 2.

  •     Tow are the props like hat and boots used in the play? What is the symbolical significance of these props.                                                                         Image result for image of waiting for godot                                                                                              This two props like Hat and Boots both symbolized very deep meaning. Hat was connected with Vladimir and Boots was connected with estragone. Boots suggest the physical meaning and Hat suggest the spiritual meaning. Physical and spiritual both are different, means Vladimir and Estragone both were different to each other, but some time, you come to same situation, you may coming at the same situation.
  •    Who according to you is Godot? God? An object of desire? Death? Goal? Success? Or  . . .
According to me, Godot is Hope. Vladimir and Estragone have one type of hope. They have a hope for salvation, one day Godot will come and they will get salvation. And Godot is also one type of goal to where Vladimire and Estragone wanted to reach, That is the goal of salvation.

  • Do you think that the obedience of Lucky is extremely irritating and nauseatic? Even when the master Pozzo is blind, he obediently hands the whip in his hand. Do you think that such a capacity of slavishness is unbelievable?
Yes, the obedience of Lucky is extremely irritating and nauseatic. Even when the master Pozzo is blind, he obediently hands the whip in his hand. Yes,I think that this is the capacity of slavishness is unbelievable. It also suggest that England control on Ireland because the name of Lucky and Pozzo suggest the name of country. Lucky was truly devoted to his master, even if his master was totally blind.

  •   Which of the following sequence you liked the most:
o   Vladimir – Estragon killing time in questions and conversations while waiting
Vladimir and Estragon: The Had and the Boot
o   Pozzo – Lucky episode in both acts
o   Converstion of Vladimir with the boy

The sequence of Pozzo and Lucky's episode in the both acts, I liked the most. Because of this scene I was feeling shocked when seeing this scene, such a capacity of slavishness is unbelievable, the relationship of master - slave and Lucky was fully devoted to his master, even if he was blind. So, that's why I liked Lucky and Pozzo's episode most.
