Garbhvati maa ne beti se pucha kya chahiye tuje? bahen ya bhai beti boli Bhai maa- kiske jesa? beti ne garv se ravan sa, maa ne javab diya kya bakti he? pita ne dhamkaya 'maa ne ghura, gali deti he beti boli, kyu maa? bahen k apmaan per rajy vansh aur pran luta dene vala shatru stree ko harne k baad bhi sparsh na karne vala Ravan jesa bhai hi to har ladki ko chahiye ajj.
This poem is a very short poem. This poem is about one sister's desire. she wants brother like Ravana.when her pregnant
mother asked her about what she wants a brother or a sister? and like
whom? The girl say that she wants brother and like Ravana. Then her
mother fully angry on her. but daughter answered that she wants brother
like Ravana, because he left all his royalship and kingdom, all because
of his sister's insult. Even after picking up his enemy's wife he didn't
ever touch her. And also say that what would she dose with a brother
like Ram, who left his pregnant wife after listening to a 'Dhobi'. we get very nice moral from this poem, that is no one in the world
is good or bad, its just everyones interpretation about other.
1) How
far do you agree with the India represented in the novel 'The White
Tiger'?
Arvind
Adiga portrayed lighter and darker picture of India in his novel.
Adiga's novel is divided India into two distinct zone-Darkness and
light. As the protagonist initially inform the premier-
'I
am in light now, but I was born and raised in darkness.'(14,The White
Tiger)
Adiga also talk about the
Indian education system and corrupt roots of India. Our education
system in the 'darkness' is made up of schools where a teacher's
primary focus is not in teaching, but in earn money by corruption and
by dishonesty. Another feature of darkness of India is elections. Where vote of people was counted even the people don't gave their
vote and don't know about that anything. Adiga also portrayed Indian
political system, judiciary, Police, administrative officers,
political leaders all have different slandered for the elite and
different once for the economically deprived. Adiga employs the
'rooster coop' analogy to his vision of enslaved Indian Masses, social
life and ridicule of Indian Marriage.
2)
Do you believe that Balram's story is the archetype of all stories of
'Rags to Riches'?
Yes,
this story is the archetype of all stories of 'Rags to riches', but
at some extent. Stories like Balram it, gives hope to the poor people
that they also can grow up. Most of the successful stories deals with
the idea of 'Think big' and 'Dream big' or 'Think differently'. But
Balram done bad things (murder) to become rich. But may be not
everyone who get success they done bad, that is may be their hard work
also. If we think on the side of post modernism way, then we can say
that Balram has his own new morality then it is a archetypal story
from 'Rags to rices'. We can apply the idea of 'Dhirubhaism' as a good
example of the story of rages to riches and also the movie 'Slumdog
Millionaire' also show Jamal Malik's story of become rags to riches.
3)
“Language
bears within itself the necessity of its own critique, deconstructive
criticism aims to show that any text inevitably undermines its own
claims to have a determinate meaning, and licences the reader to
produce his own meanings out of it by an activity of semantic
'freeplay' (Derrida, 1978, in Lodge, 1988, p. 108). Is it
possible to do deconstructive reading of The White Tiger? How?
Yes, it is possible
to do deconstruction of the text 'The White Tiger.'
'Me,
and thousands of others in this country like me, are half-baked, because we were never allowed to complete our schooling'.
By
this linespoken
by Balram Halwai, by half-baked who present the critical ideas about
India, we can not surley believe on that Ideas that it is really true
of false? By this point we can deconstruct it.
4)
It is possible to read 'The
White Tiger' in context
of the Globalization?
“For
surley any successful man must spill a little blood on his way to the
top”.
From
this line we can say that in our society rich people ruled on poor
people and that's why the poor feels inferior and for become rich
they d something wrong like Balram. Balram worked as a servant and
that's why he know the situation of servant and master- slave
relationship. He also help his driver when his driver kill one person
by accident, that time Balram save him. In globalized India rich
people become richer
and poor become more poor. There is only two destinies : eat or
eaten up. It means you have to survive your self otherwise serve
others. Many people like Balram in India they do something bad/wrong
for become a rich in the globelized India.
Here
I am sharing my review and experience of the reading the gujrati book
'Mahotu'.
The
book 'Mahotu' is the notable work of Ram Mori, which published in
2016. Ram Mori is primarily known for his short stories depicting the
rural life of Saurashtra. 'Mahotu' is an ontology of short stories,
written by him, which brought him the Sahitya Akadami's Yuva
Puraskarin 2017. 'Mahotu' is the collection of the short stories,
which was critically acclaimed by some of the Gujrati writers and
critic including Raghuveer Chaudhary and Kirit doodhat. His short
stories are centered around women of rural Saurashtra. Mahotu is also
name of his first story in this book.
'Mahotu' is about the stories full of
colors of life. It is about the realistic situations of life. In his
all the short stories in the book 'Mahotu' is narrated as first
person and every stories are narrated by the women. Ram Mori writes
about the general problems of the rural society and how women suffer
in the society and compromise with their desire because of the absurd
rules and traditions of the society. The language which Ram Mori
used is very rural and he also portrayed the modern or the urban life
and their problem also. During the reading the reading of the stories
we feels some different types of curiosity for further reading and
about what will happen next. The end of the every stories are very
interesting, because all the stories have a open end. It show the
post-modernist literature of 21st century.
So, I want to say that this is
the amazing book, and my experience of reading this book is totally
enjoyable.

Literature . Literature tought us everything in life. It makes
students to think critically. It tought the triviality of life and deep
meaning of literature.

dull and uninteresting as their Engineering one. In case of Manoj

One
Night at the Call Center is a novel written by Chetan Bhagat a very
popular novel writer in 21st
century. The novel ON@TCC published in
2005. The novel revolves around a group of six call center employees
working at the connexion call center in Gurgaon (Gurugaon),
Hariyana,India. It takes place during one night, during which all of
the leading characters confront some aspect of themselves. We find
many various interpretation or elements in this novel. like,
Self
help book
Syberpunk
Populer
Literature
Nationalism
Effect
of Globalization
Cpmparision
with 'Life of Pi'
1)
One Night at the Call Center as Selfhelp Book
Now
a days, there is a sort of trend of Self-help book in the society.
Self help book is about moral lesson, solution of problems and also
helpful for build personal philosophy. The meaning of self help book
often focus on popular psychology such as romantic relationship or
aspects of the mind and human behaviours. There is an aspects of
self-help in the book ON@TCC the book as
the author invites readers to identify aspects of themselves and
their lives that make them angry and that they would like to change.
There is a many points which justify this novel as 'Self-help book'
like- The beginning pages which asks readers to write down three
things (fear, angry, dislike). God's message: intelligence,
imagination, self confidence and failure. Remember reverse gear and
be friendly with problems. Epilouge: we all have dark side – the
weakness which we always overlook rather than facing it. Epilogue:
just like life rational or not , it just gets better with God in it.
So, this all the advise given by God all the characters impliments
in their live and they face or fight with their problems and live
their.
2)
One Night at the Call Center as Cyberpunk
First of all we have to know that
what is Syberpunk? Cyberpunk is a subgenere of scifi (Science
fiction) in which there is strong sense of helplessness, misery,
dystopic ideals and loss of morality and humanity. In ON@TCC
the characters deals with cyber technology. Vroom hacks Bakshi's
email and writes email to Esha on his behalf. The Americans are
terrorized with the help bug in MS OFFICE as virus attack on
internet. ON@TCC is not cyberpunk but
has a few elements.
We know that in 21st
century or in contemporary time, Chetan Bhagat is a very popular
writer of literature. He wrote about young generation and their
problems and most of the things which mostly happnes in our life.
Chetan Bhagat is a very popular amonh youth of India. We can say that
the novel ON@TCCis a popular literature
because it has a many elements which shows the cherecteristics of
popular literature lik, the polt of love-breakup, love between
Priyanka and Shyam, God's moral philosophying, God's call and the
gullibibility of all six characters in blindly believing that it is
really a call from God.
“ Involves national identity by contrast
with the related construct of petriotism, which involves the social
conditioning and personal behaviours that support a state's decisions
and actions.”(Nationalism)
Nationalism
means pride for your nation and also petriotic feellings towards our
nation. We know that the future of nation depends on the youth or
youngstars of the nation. In this novel the six young people work on
a call center and they buy name is 'WASG' 'Western Appliances
Strategic Group'. They deal with the customers of America for help
them in solving their problems like in refrigerator, laptops and in
other, but later on they realize their feeling about their nation.
Vroom is a very anti-American in the novel. He says that,
“ American suck
the life blood out of our country's most productive generation.”
After realizing this all the characters make changes in their life.
Like Shyam Mehra needs to stop being 'Sam Marcy'.
“Globelization is a process of
interaction and integration among the people, companies and
governments of different nations, a process driven by international
trade and investment and aided by information technology”.
(Globalization)
We
find the effect of globalization in this novel also describe the
strrugle of every character's life. We know that globalization is an
economical movement. Friedman's the 'World is Flat' is non fictional
book. The title of the book itself tells about the effect of
globalization. The Indian people who work in Call center, those
people only get an opportunity to show their skills, creativity and
ability. The Indian people who work in call center they also forced
to change their names to western one. In this novel like,
Shyam
Mehra – Sam Mercy
Varun
Malhotra – Victor
Radhika
Jha – Regima Jones
Esha
Singh – Elina
One
of the good advantages of globelization is that the Indian youth are
getting good job opportunities in western countries.
5)
Comment on the narrative structure of the novel. Compare with that
of 'Life of Pi'.
The novel ON@TCC
has a many similar elements with 'Life of Pi'. The narrative
structure of the stories are similar. We find the God's elements in
both the novels. Narrator of ON@TCC is unreliable, Epilogue and prologue and we find the many things similar
in both the novels. The post modernist technique of narration is used
in ON@TCC. Author's
note is also in 'Life of Pi' and prologue is also there in ON@TCC.
In ON@TCC in the prologue there is a lady
who come to the author and said that, 'I have a story for you and I
told you if you will write is as your second book. And in 'Life of
Pi' there is also some one who came to the author and said to Yann
Martel that I have a story for you and that makes you belief in God. Acknowledgement, prologue, Epilogue, unreliable narrative, God's
elements etc. Are the similar things between ON@TCC
and 'Life of Pi'. Also we find the deep Indianness in Chetan Bhagat's
novel, While we also find the same things in Yann Martel's 'Life of
Pi'.
The title 'Prayer for My Daughter' seems
similar to the poem 'The Prayer before
Birth' as both express the fear of the possible danger in the modern time. W.B.
Yeats the nobel prize winner poet has written many magnificent poem and 'A
prayer for My Daughter' is one of them. It was written in 1919 and published in 1921. It is written to
Anne. The daughter of Yeats and Georgie Hydesless. Yeats wrote this poem while
staying in a tower at Ballylee during the Anglo-Irish war. The poem was written
after two days of Anne's birth on February 20th, 1919.
Though the title is very
long. It is simple ans suggestive. 'A prayer for my Daughter' itself gives the
idea about the meaning of the poem as well as the intention of the poet. This
poem present a universal theme. Every father
is worried about his child perticularly doughter when his nation is
facing crisis. The central idea of this poem can be clearly understood in the
title. This poem is a prayer for poet's daughter because he worried about the
possible dangours in future. So his prayer to God to keep her safe from crualty
of the world. W.B. Yeats is a gifted poet and his poetry shows a grant style.
This poem has been composed into 10 stanzas of 8 lines each. The poet also gives mythological refrences of
like 'Hallen of Troy', 'The Trojan War' etc. there is also fine use of
symbolism like tree, storm etc.
A Prayer froMy Daughter'
presents a father's worry for his daughter perticularly her future. He prayes
God to give her beauty but with curtecy
and compension. Some critics do not agree with some ideas of the poem for etc.
The critics Brenda Maddos suggest that the poem is design delibretly to offened
women. However, the poem presents a realistic picture of his time, and pure
feelings of a father for daughter.
Short story has emerged as one
of the most popular form of litrature in the last century. In this rapid world
were men has no time to read long novels for hours, short story is a perfect
choice. John Galsworthy was a prolific novelist, play wright and short story
writer in the early decades of the 20th century. As a writer he reflects the
contemporary sociological problems. His stories high light the struggle of uper
middle class to which he himself belongs.
In the present story 'Quality'
he depicts a German craftmen effords to survivein an era, where success is
determined by advertisement and not by work. This is a kind of master piece by
Galsworthy. The story highlights the conflict of Gassler brothes, who are
excellent shoe maker but can not face the globle and glamorous advertisement.
The narretor pleased orders many time for shoes to Mr Gassler's shop. But at
the end of the story he comes to know that Mr. Gassler passed away because of
slow starvation. He dedicated his entire life to making boots and even such a
hard work can not survive him. The end of the story creat a simpathy for the
pure Gassler and also makes us things about the changing world. 'Quality' itself suggest as a short and
simple title. It is a very relavent title to excellent craftman, Mr.Gassler who
never compromise with Quality.
This short fiction is basically
a satire on fast developing world and cut throat compitition in the field of
buisness. Galsworty indicates here that in
a modern time success on marketing and not on highr quality of the
product. This short story provides a limited scope of characterisation in
comperison to novel. This story introduses two main characters, both are male.
The writer and Mr. Gassler is the central character of the story. The narretor
remarks about him, "I will say that
for him not a man in London made a better boot". Jhon Galsworty is
concidered as a master of short story writing. His magnificiant style make the
story more appeling. He makes use of two sets of language, one for himself, as
an educated man, the narretor and the other for Mr. Gassler, a Germon craftman.
'Quality' is an appeling story
that presents a realistic picture of the changing mentality of the buisness
people. Customers are attrected by advertisement and marketing and noy by
Quality.
